PDH Course Description:
This course provides guidance on design considerations for elevators, exterior-mounted and interior mechanical equipment, and utilities (electric, telephone, and cable TV systems and water and wastewater systems). Protecting mechanical equipment and utilities is a key component of successful building performance during and after a disaster event.Topics:
- Proper installation of elevator equipment in coastal areas
- Proper installation of Interior and exterior mechanical equipment in coastal areas
- Proper installation of electrical, cable, and telephone equipment in coastal areas
- Proper installation of water/wastewater/sanitary systems in coastal areas
- Damage Considerations from high wind, flood, and seismic events
- installation of emergency power sources
- Protection of wells and septic systems
- Protection of municipal water systems, and fire sprinkler systems
