PDH Course Description:
Professional Engineers seeking to renew their licenses in Indiana are required take a course on Indiana statutes and rules applicable to the practice of professional engineering. The present course is designed to meet that requirement.Topics:
- Students will learn the requirements for maintaining their licenses, including the total number of professional development hours (PDHs), rules for documenting continuing education, and the relation between academic course work and PDHs.
- Students will become familiar with the rules for carrying over excess hours from one two-year period to the next and for obtaining a waiver from the continuing education requirement.
- Students will understand the differing requirements imposed on licensing applicants lacking a baccalaureate degree in engineering.
- Students will learn how compliance with continuing education requirements is monitored.
- Students will know the definition of “hour of continuing education” and “approved organization" for the purpose of providing continuing education courses for professional engineers.
