    PDH Course Description:

    This course provides an in-depth examination of the engineering principles, planning processes, regulatory frameworks, and construction practices involved in the development of single-family residential subdivisions. 

    From site selection and feasibility analysis to infrastructure design and final plat approvals, the course guides licensed engineers through every critical stage of the land development lifecycle. Emphasis is placed on civil engineering design, regulatory coordination, and practical considerations unique to residential subdivision development.

    Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

    • Understand the regulatory, legal, and zoning considerations specific to residential subdivision planning.
    • Perform site feasibility evaluations including environmental, topographic, and infrastructure assessments.
    • Apply best practices in site layout, lot configuration, grading, drainage, and utility planning.
    • Navigate platting, permitting, and development review processes.
    • Address common challenges such as stormwater management, traffic access, and construction phasing.
