  • HVAC Systems: Noise and Vibration Control Principles

    PDH Course Description:

    This course examines the engineering principles and practical methods used to identify, analyze, and mitigate noise and vibration in HVAC systems. It provides a technical overview of the sources of sound and mechanical vibration in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, and introduces proven control strategies including isolation, damping, absorption, and acoustic shielding. 

    The course explores both airborne and structure-borne pathways of sound transmission, the influence of ductwork and support structure design, and how to meet applicable noise control standards in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Emphasis is placed on engineering design considerations for quiet, efficient, and code-compliant HVAC system installations.
