This course presents a detailed exploration of the ancillary components that complement and enhance the performance, safety, and usability of bridge structures. These components—though not part of the primary load-bearing system—play critical roles in the long-term functionality and maintenance of bridge systems.The course addresses the design, function, and integration of elements such as expansion joints, bearings, guardrails, lighting, drainage systems, utility conduits, signage, and access structures.
