Arizona Professional Engineer Renewal
Arizona currently does not impose a general periodic continuing-education or PDH requirement on professional engineers as a condition of routine registration renewal.
No general PE PDH total, ethics course, online-course limit, carryover rule, or CE audit record-retention period currently applies to ordinary Arizona PE renewal.

Important Distinction
Arizona registrants remain subject to the statutes, administrative rules, and professional standards governing competent and ethical engineering practice. Absence of a periodic course quota is not permission to practice outside one’s competence.
Licensees must follow current Board renewal instructions, pay required fees, maintain current contact information, and satisfy any other applicable registration requirements.
A Board order, consent agreement, reinstatement condition, employer policy, contract, specialty credential, or another regulatory program may require education even when routine PE renewal does not.
Continuing-education proposals and professional regulation can change over time. Review the current renewal application and Board rules for each renewal cycle.
Comity and Multiple Registrations
An engineer licensed in Arizona and another jurisdiction must independently satisfy the renewal requirements of the other jurisdiction. Arizona’s lack of a general mandate does not create an exemption from another board’s CPC rules.
When several licenses are active, identify the earning period, required subjects, delivery restrictions, carryover, reporting method, and documentation period for each board. A thoughtfully selected course may qualify in several jurisdictions, but each board retains authority over its own credit.
Professional Development
Arizona PEs may voluntarily complete relevant education to maintain competence, learn updated codes and standards, strengthen technical or ethical judgment, satisfy employer requirements, or prepare documentation for another jurisdiction.
