    PDH Course Description:

    This course provides a review of the State of Illinois requirements according to the board rules and The Professional Engineering Practice Act of 1989. This course meets the requirements by the State of Illinois for continuing education for professional engineers.

    This course is based on “The Professional Engineering Practice Act of 1989” and a section of the administrative code pertaining to professional development of engineers, which serve as the course documents. The topics covered include licensure requirements, examples of situations which require a license, proper use of an engineer’s seal, exemptions to licensure requirements and categories of violations.

    Topics:

    • A review of the The Professional Engineering Practice Act of 1989
    • An awareness of the Illinois Department of Financial And Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
    • A review of the continuing education requirements
    • A basic understanding of the IDFPR disciplinary process
    • Examples of exemptions by the board
    • Examples of violations and penalties
