  • Modern Tech - Shape Memory Alloys

    Credits: 6 PDH

    PDH Course Description:

Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) are a unique class of metallic materials that possess the remarkable ability to recover their original shape after deformation, upon exposure to certain stimuli such as temperature or stress. This distinctive behavior is attributed to a reversible solid-state phase transformation known as the martensitic transformation.

This course provides a general overview of this unique alloy, its principles of behavior, different types, engineering applications for this unique alloy, and more.

    Topics:

    • Fundamentals of Shape Memory Alloys
    • Historical Development of Shape Memory Alloys
    • Importance and Applications of Shape Memory Alloys
    • Phase Transformations in Shape Memory Alloys
    • Thermomechanical Behavior of Shape Memory Alloys
