  • Filtration and Air Cleaning Systems for Buildings

    Credits: 4 PDH

    PDH Course Description:

This course provides guidance for filtration and air cleaning systems for buildings for protection of a building environment from airborne chemical, biological, or radiological attacks. This includes coverage of filtration and air-cleaning principles for particulate air filtration and gas-phase air cleaning. Also included are recommendations regarding filter and sorbent selection, operations, upgrade, and maintenance, as well as information on economic considerations.

In this course, you need to review the material in the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) publication, “Guidance for Filtration and Air Cleaning Systems to Protect Building Environments from Airborne Chemical, Biological, or Radiological Airborne Attacks”, April 2003, available at: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/2003-136/default.html.

    Topics:

    • Particulate air filtration and gas-phase air cleaning
    • NIOSH recommendations - filter and sorbent selection for filtration and air cleaning systems
