Engineering Properties of Rock Materials
Credits: 5 PDH
PDH Course Description:
To use rock in engineering applications, certain properties of the rock must be assessed to reasonably predict performance in the as-built condition. The properties of rock fall into two broad classes: rock material properties relating to the rock itself and rock mass properties relating to the in-place rock mass, including its discontinuities. This course provides a general overview of these rock properties as they apply to engineering applications along with rock material classifications..Topics:
- Engineering Properties of Rock
- Material Properties of Rock
- Rock Mass Properties
- Stratigraphic and Structural Discontinuities
- Properties Related to both Rock Material and Mass
- Rock Material Field Classification System
- Rock Surveys
