  • Maintaining Permeable Pavements

    Credits: 1 PDH

    PDH Course Description:

This course is based on the NC Cooperative Extension's publication titled "Maintaining Permeable Pavements" providing information on the maintenance and inspection of permeable pavements. Permeable pavements are an effective tool for reducing runoff volume, mitigating runoff peaks, and sequestering pollution. The publication highlights the importance of regular street sweeping and clogging prevention to maintain the permeability of the pavement surface layer. The publication also provides information on the types of street sweepers and the appropriate equipment for different types of permeable pavements. Additionally, the publication provides guidance on other maintenance tasks such as weed removal, stain removal, and mowing for grassed permeable pavement applications.

    Topics:

    • Introduction
    • The Importance of Permeable Pavement Maintenance
    • The Most Important Maintenance Task: Street Sweeping
