  • 5G Infrastructure Cabling and Backhaul Design

    Credits: 3 PDH

    PDH Course Description:

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the engineering principles, design considerations, and implementation techniques for 5G infrastructure cabling and backhaul systems. As 5G networks demand ultra-low latency and high-speed connectivity, the physical layer—comprising fiber optics, high-frequency copper cabling, and wireless relay systems—plays a vital role in system performance and scalability.

This course examines the design criteria, cable architecture, backhaul requirements, and installation standards needed to build a reliable and scalable 5G physical network backbone, emphasizing interoperability, environmental adaptation, and future-proofing.

    Topics:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Understand the role of cabling and backhaul in 5G network architecture
    • Identify the technical standards and performance criteria for 5G cabling systems
    • Design and evaluate fiber optic and high-frequency copper cabling systems for 5G
    • Analyze the types and topologies of backhaul networks including microwave and millimeter-wave
    • Integrate environmental, urban, and rural considerations into 5G infrastructure planning
    • Apply practical knowledge to installation practices, testing, and commissioning of 5G cabling
