  • Federal and State Procurement Law for Engineering Services

    PDH Course Description:

    This course offers a comprehensive overview of federal and state procurement laws as they apply to engineering services in the United States. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of procurement regulations, understand the legal framework that governs public sector contracts, and explore ethical and procedural standards required for compliance. 

    Drawing on real-world legal doctrines, federal regulations such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), state procurement statutes, and industry-standard contracting practices, the course equips engineers with essential knowledge for navigating public sector procurement. Topics covered include procurement methods, qualifications-based selection (QBS), ethical compliance, contract law fundamentals, bid protests, risk management, and emerging issues such as green procurement and digital platforms.

    This course will help align engineering best practices with the legal principles that support fair, transparent, and accountable public procurement.
