Idaho - Continuing Educational Requirements:

Hours Required:
|
30 hours biennially (1 PDH unit = 1 CPD unit = 1 CPC unit)
|
Renewal Dates:
|
The last day of the engineer’s birth month. (Those born in even years expire in even years and those born in odd years expire in odd years.)

Board Approved Course Providers?
|
Each engineer must determine whether a course satisfies their state board’s CPC requirements.
|
Approved Subject Matter:
|
- Technical or professional content is accepted, although there are no specific restrictions on other types of content.
- The course must have a “clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee’s field of practice.”

Are Online Courses Allowed?
|
Online, web-based courses are specifically listed as an approved activity, with no limit on the amount of hours received through online continuing education.

PDH Carryover:
|
30 PDH (max) may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
|
Other Specific Requirements:
|
- Single Activity for 30 PDH not allowed: PDH units must be earned from two or more activities. You cannot complete a single 30-hour course per biennial period.
- Dual licensees: (engineering and land surveying) must comply with the requirements of the rules in regard to each profession.
- Self-Study Allowance: A maximum of 3 PDH per biennial renewal period can be earned through "documented" self-study, such as reading articles, books, journals, and published papers. One PDH is earned for every two hours of study time.
- Recordkeeping for Audit Purposes: PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 6 years for audit purposes.
