Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) Requirements

Wyoming - Continuing Educational Requirements:
Hours Required: 30 CPC biennially (1 PDH unit = 1 CPC unit = 1 CPD unit)

Renewal Date:

Dec. 31st (based on the initial year of licensure)
Board Approved Courses or Providers?
The Wyoming board does not pre-approve course providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether a course satisfies their state board’s CPC requirements.

Approved Subject Matter:
  • Technical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to the practice of engineering.
  • Courses must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge related to a licensee’s field of engineering practice.
Are Online Courses Allowed? Online, web-based courses are specifically listed as an approved activity, with no limit on the amount of hours received through online continuing education.

PDH Carryover:

15 PDH (max)
may be carried forward into the next renewal period

Other Specific Requirements:
  1. Dual licensees: number of PDH remains 30 biennially; however, 1/3 of required credits must pertain to each profession.
  2. Recordkeeping for Audit Purposes: PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 3 years for audit purposes. (See our Audit-Assist Guarantee!)
