    This course provides an overview on the importance of diverse landscapes and forest stratification for healthy bat populations. Riparian areas hold significance for bats due to their association with fresh water, abundant flying insects, and availability of roosting sites like snags. However, despite their ecological importance, bats face threats, and some species are endangered or of concern. Studying and monitoring bats remain challenging due to their nocturnal behavior and remote roost locations.

    Overall, this course emphasizes the need for continued conservation efforts and research to protect bats and their crucial ecological roles in various ecosystems.
