Continuing Education Requirements
CPC Hrs. Req'd 15 PDH annually (1 PDH unit = 1 CPC unit)
Date of Renewal December 31 (end of each year)
Board Approved Course Providers? The Alabama board does not pre-approve course providers or specific courses. Each
engineer must determine whether a course satisfies their state board’s CPC requirements.
Approved Subject Matter Technical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to a licensee's particular area of engineering practice.
Are Online Courses Allowed? Internet courses are specifically listed as an approved activity. There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online continuing education.
Allowed PDH Carryover 15 PDH (max) may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
Other Specific Requirements:
  1. Should the board perform a routine CPC audit: To be accepted, the licensee must demonstrate high quality education from the course, if requested, and the course must require the participant to show evidence of achievement and completion.   2. The Board specifically states that equipment demonstrations will not be accepted for PDH credit.
