Professional Development Hours (PDH) Requirements

CE Requirements


Nebraska - Continuing Educational Requirements:
Hours Required: 30 PDH biennially (1 PDH unit = 1 CPC unit = 1 CPD unit)
Renewal Dates:
  • January 1 of odd-numbered years for licensees whose last name begins with one of the letters A through K.
  • January 1 of even-numbered years for licensees whose last name begins with one of the letters L through Z.
Board Approved Courses or Providers? The Nebraska board does not pre-approve course providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether a course satisfies their state board’s CPC requirements.

Are Online Courses Allowed? Online, web-based courses are specifically listed as an approved activity, however, online continuing education is limited to 25% of the hours submitted (7.5 hours per renewal cycle).

PDH Carryover:
15 PDH (max)
may be carried forward into the next renewal period.

Other Specific Requirements:
  1. Recordkeeping for Audit Purposes: PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 4 years for audit purposes. (See our Audit-Assist Guarantee!)
